Tilstra Services is proud to have completed the graduation internship of Shynon Carolina, who made a valuable contribution to our finance team over the past three months. His internship focused on financial administration, process optimization and the application of innovative tools such as Power BI and Exact Online.

In-depth finance experience

During his internship, Shynon specialized in the invoicing process for self-employed people, including hours control, invoice processing and VAT regulations. This work gave him an in-depth understanding of SME finance, operational complexity and administrative processes.

Process optimization & automation

An important part of his assignment was optimizing the purchase invoice process. After extensive stakeholder interviews, Shynon opted for a phased implementation of a new purchase invoice system, which reduced manual actions and set up an automated approval flow.

He also worked with Exact Online, TimeChimp, Excel and Power BI, where he developed dashboards that provided more transparency and real-time insight into financial data. This is in line with the growing demand for automation in finance and data analysis in SMEs.

Visible impact & customer contact

Shynon presented his findings during quarterly meetings, which were positively received. In addition, he independently took care of a customer visit, which led to enthusiastic feedback and the decision to continue these visits on a structural basis every quarter. This underlines his professional attitude and sense of responsibility.

Guidance and cooperation

Despite a challenging start, Shynon was able to adapt quickly. With daily check-ins and clear prioritization, he worked independently and communicated smoothly with colleagues. He even took the initiative in training a working student.

Personal growth

During his internship, Shynon developed strongly in the areas of planning, communication and independence. He discovered that his strength lies in analyzing and reporting and is enthusiastically looking forward to his further career in finance.

Strategic value for Tilstra

Tilstra Services is increasingly positioning itself as a training organization, with ambitious plans to train approximately 40 trainees and to collaborate with accounting firms for further professionalization.
