PAWW contribution rate 2025 set at 0.1%

The PAWW Foundation Board has set the contribution rate for the year 2025 at 0.1% of gross pay. This increase comes after a 0.08% contribution set last year. The Foundation emphasizes that this keeps the contribution at a low level.

The increase is based on the expectation of a slight increase in unemployment, which will also increase enrollment in the PAWW plan. Despite this expected increase in participants, the Foundation has been able to keep contributions limited thanks to a solid asset position.

To ensure a smooth transition, it is important that payroll software vendors and administrative offices incorporate the new percentage into their systems in time for the first payroll processing of 2025. In doing so, employers are responsible for applying the new percentage in their returns and should inform their employees accordingly.

The annual contribution rate is determined by the PAWW Foundation no later than October 1. During the term of the PAWW collective bargaining agreement, the percentage will remain capped at 0.5%.
